Barbara's Recipe Corner - March 2009

BARBARA'S NUT BREAD

Mix: 1 cup milk and 2 eggs

Add: 3/4 cup sugar (6 oz)
3 cups flour (self-rising) (12 oz)
2 teaspoons baking powder

Fold in: 1 cup (8 oz) walnut pieces
1 cup (8 oz) combined golden raisins, chopped apricots, chopped dates

Add: 2 Tablespoons wheat germ

Bake at 250 F** for about 1 1/2 hours, or until lightly brown. Makes one large loaf tin.

** not a typo - this bread does get baked at 250 degrees.
